SET North America and Infotonics Technology Center (ITC) of Canandaigua, NY, have entered into a cooperating agreement which strengthen the position of both companies as well as the bonding community. In the agreement, ITC’s facility serves as a base location for demonstrations and development work for SET’s Bonders. SET brings broad process understanding as well as other bonding options and platforms.

ITC’s equipment includes an SET FC150 Automated Device Bonder; their personnel have extensive experience and bonding expertise which is available to the bonding community through services provided by both SET NA and ITC. ITC is well positioned to help companies which have a small quantity of bonds to do as process development or prototypes. Companies without in-house production capabilities can employ ITC’s FAB for pilot production. It is the intent of both companies to develop a “Center of Competency” which would allow other member companies to access process knowledge for the purpose of broadening their understanding and accelerating their own development.
